"Newcastle Bridge", also known as "Col. Ridley's Quick March" is a Scottish jig in<br> A Major. The parts are played AABB.<br> It was composed by Abraham Mackintosh (b. 1769), son of Scottish composer and violinist<br> Robert 'Red Rob' Mackintosh. Although born in Scotland, Abraham Mackintosh established<br> himself in Newcastle in the midst of his career as a music teacher and dancing master.<br> "Newcastle Bridge" was composed by Macintosh as "Col. Ridley's Quick March" and appears<br> in his Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs, etc. <br> It was printed in Hunter's Fiddle Music of Scotland (1988),<br> Macintosh's Collection of Strathspeys, Reels, Jigs, etc. and<br> Bancalari's Celtic Encyclopedia, Mandolin Edition (1999).<br>
